Thousands of people turned out at Sand Creek Park this past weekend for Rocky's Pumpkin Patch. The annual event includes free pumpkins, activities and trick or treating.
Lots of boys and ghouls, dressed in Halloween costumes, stood in line while youth groups and clubs handed out candy to trick or treaters. It was a great way to introduce the community to the wide range of organizations in Coon Rapids. Everywhere you looked, there were fun things to do, for children of all ages. Getting a picture taken with Rocky the Raccoon was near the top of the list for many. And then there was the pumpkin patch with hundreds of pumpkins to choose from. All for free.
With a record turnout of more than 3,000 people from Coon Rapids and the surrounding area, this year’s event will be remembered for years to come.
