Community Rallies Around 'Superfan' After Heart Attack

The man dubbed the 'Anoka Superfan' is recovering after suffering a heart attack earlier this month. Jeff Nelson suffered a heart attack on March 12 that required minor surgery and a hospital stay.

Boosters say Nelson has tirelessly supported all Anoka High School students over the years. Now, he needs help as he doesn't have medical insurance.

There are two ways to help. You can buy a Superfan T-shirt online for $20. Click here to order.  T-shirts can be mailed. There's also a drive-up fundraiser on Saturday, April 24 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Anoka High School. Jeff will be on hand to wave and thank everyone as they drive by. Organizers are asking for cash donations, grocery store gift cards and gas gift cards. T-shirts can also be picked up this day.

Organizers say 100% of the donations will go to Nelson.
