The coldest air of the season, so far, is descending on Minnesota this weekend. In fact, the big chill forced Snowflake Days organizers to cancel one of two parades this week.
While Thursday night's parade was canceled, Tuesday night's event went off without a hitch. Coon Rapids royalty took part along with police vehicles, fire trucks and a snow plow. Hundreds of residents along the parade route came out of their homes to watch the passing units. They also donated dozens of bags of food to the ACBC Food Shelf.
This is the first time there's been a parade in conjunction with Snowflake Days.
