The make-up of the Coon Rapids City Council will be changing in the New Year.
On Tuesday night, council members Bill Kiecker and Steve Wells participated in their final City Council meeting. Wells, who didn't seek re-election, has served on the council for the past eight years. Prior to that, Wells was a member of the police department for three decades.
Bill Kiecker also bid farewell to fellow council members, city staff and the community. Kiecker lost his bid for re-election in November but says its been an honor serving the residents of Ward Two.
As a parting gift, both men were presented with a street sign with their last name. Their replacements will be sworn into office the first Monday in January.
