The city is moving forward with plans to reconstruct two community parks this summer.On Tuesday night, the City Council accepted the plans and specifications for the 2018 park improvement projects and ordered the solicitation of bids for the work. Plans for Riverwind Park call for basketball and pickleball courts, a new playground, trails, improved parking and a park building in the future. Plans for Crooked Lake Park call for a new playground, improved tennis courts, sand volleyball, picnic shelters, restrooms, a parking lot expansion, central plaza and fishing pier. The contract is expected to be awarded next month and construction will start in the spring.
